Jason Grahame is fortunate enough to have been born into a hockey
family. His father played professionally for 10 years in the NHL and
WHA and his brother played 12 years in the NHL. Jason’s mother has
worked for the Colorado Avalanche since their opening season in 1995
and is one of a few select women to have her name engraved on the
Stanley Cup.
Grahame played his entire minor hockey in the
state of Colorado. He started playing hockey at a very young age as
a Junior Pioneer at Denver University, was selected as a Midget to
participate on Team Colorado and continued his career playing Junior A
for the St. Louis Sting. After playing one year in Juniors, Grahame
was selected to play for four years in NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey at
Denver University. He played and experienced the WCHA Final Five and
the NCAA National Championship.
Grahame received his Bachelor
of Science and Business Administration in Marketing/Finance at the
University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science and Business
Administration in Management from Northwood University After
graduation Grahame was an amateur scout for the Colorado Avalanche
covering the WCHA and Junior A level in the USHL and NAHL.
Grahame
considers it a privilege to have personally witnessed the 1996, 2001,
and 2004 Stanley Cup Championships, traveled to the 2006 Winter
Olympics in Torino, Italy, and the 2007 World Championships in Russia.
Most recently Grahame co-coached the Arvada Midget team culminating in
the State Championship and Rocky Mountain District runners up in 2009.
